Greetings!
A couple weeks ago Betsy, one of the Biola cluster leaders, received an email from an unfamiliar email address. The message was from a guy saying that he wanted to talk more about the gospel tract she had given him. Betsy was surprised because she couldn't remember the last time she gave out her email address when witnessing. Finally she figured out that it was someone she talked to back in August! As part of the cluster leader training in August, thenew cluster leaders put their training into practice by going initiative witnessing every afternoon for a | |

week at malls, downtown Whittier, and Newport Beach. During this week, Kolby, the Biola team student director, and Betsy started a conversation with this college-age guy in downtown Whittier. At the time, he wasn't interested in God, but Kolby and Betsy had a long conversation with him about what gives life meaning. They didn't expect to hear from him again. Oftentimes when sharing Christ with strangers, it is easy to get discouraged when people don't seem interested and wonder if they will give a second thought to the tracts and Bibles we give out. The email Betsy received is a reminder that God is working on people's hearts even when we don't see the fruit.

Betsy reflected, "I'm always telling high schoolstudents, 'don't be discouraged,' but it was so good to hear back from someone we talked to! He was listening even though he was staring at the ground the whole time." Betsy replied to the email and hasn't heard back yet, but we are praying that God will continue to draw this person to Himself and the others who have heard the good news.
