Story of the Week
April 6th, 2010
Greetings!

On Friday morning, these students were thrilled that hundreds had heard the gospel over the past 4 days. But on Friday afternoon, God took low turnout and opposition and turned Good Friday into the highlight of the whole week.

A story from 1 of the 10 high school Christian Clubs

doing Easter outreach last week.
Share the Passion Week
 at Trabuco Hills HS

Trabuco Hills HS in Mission Viejo, CA has probably never seen anything like this Passion Week.
On Monday, the Bible club hosted a Christian rap artist who performed in the Quad at lunchtime. Hundreds of students heard his message.
On Tuesday, a local pastor spoke
to over 300 students in the gym.

300 students on Tuesday heard the gospel from Romans 5:8 "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Tusday Rally at THHS

More rappers came to the gym on Wednesday, a student shared her testimony on Thursday, and a band composed of Bible Club members performed for 400 in the Quad on Friday morning.

Hundreds of students at Trabuco Hills heard about Jesus, and the Bible Club was pumped.
Good Friday rally welcomes 15 New Believers
The final outreach on Friday at lunch seemed sabotaged by half day schedule. One campus mentor saw the 35 students who came and thought the rally had failed.

But these 35 students were there for a reason.
Even though they could have gone home for the weekend, they chose to come to the gym to hear about Jesus. And when the guest speaker invited students to pray to receive Jesus, 15 of them raised their hands!

Cassi, campus mentor, said that "God brought the exact people who He wanted at these rallies!"

Mocking Student invites a friend to Jesus
After this rally on Friday, Cassi joined Alanna, the Bible Club president to share Jesus on campus. Here's the story in her words:

"I was witnessing with Alanna, and we started talking with a couple guys who were quite skeptical and wouldn't listen to reason. Then one of them got a call from his friend Sheldon and said "Dude you should come over here the girls are trying to tell us about God and it's really funny, etc..." So his friend Sheldon comes over. In a few minutes the first two students left, but because God is awesome Sheldon stayed and when he heard the gospel was moved and wanted to serve Jesus!
But that wouldn't have happened without the mocking of the first two boys. How amazing it is that God can use even hostility to His glory!"

Pray for Trabuco Hills

  • At least 16 students at Trabuco Hills prayed to receive Christ, and 8 other responded that they want to learn more about the gospel. Pray that roots go deep and they become true disciples.
Thanks for your prayers. We're glad to have your partnership in ministry through Prayer.

Sincerely,

the California School Project
