California School Project Newsletter
Story of the Week
March 5th, 2010
Greetings!

Share the Passion is coming up in 4 short weeks. Last weekend, CSP mentors trained 49 students from 22 schools with all the tools they need to make it happen.
Here's a snapshot from these training events.
Friday night (2/26) - Mission Viejo, CA

Paige - student leader of the club at Mission Viejo HS - invited another club member and two leaders from Trabuco Hills HS to her family's home for outreach training. CSP leader Mark Hopson guided the 4 students through curriculum for 3 hours. Although short and intense, this training evening provided students with all the direction they need to share their passion for Jesus on their campus.
 Saturday (2/27) - Biola University

27 leaders from 15 schools had 6 hours of training, discussion & planning for
student planningoutreaches at the end of March.

One high school student said, "The training makes me feel that I can do all things through God. This provides me with moral support and comfort".
This student also felt encouraged, simply by being around other Christians, and also talked about personal growth from the training. "I feel that I've grown more spiritual in just this one day-this training makes me feel more independent through Christ". Overall, students said the day was both successful and helpful, and they felt more confident about the future events.

Sunday afternoon(2/28) - Bakersfield, CA

18 students from 5 schools came to the training on Sunday.  They decided on the theme "Bigger than..." where each day of the outreach week they will discuss some aspect of life that God is bigger than and reigns over.  They are planning on doing all five challenges on every day of the week and are looking forward to all of it!!

Bakersfield HomeTown trip leader, Taylor, said "It was an amazing opportunity to go train the students in Bakersfield.  They were all so enthusiastic and willing to serve.  They worked together and were so united in Christ.  It was great to be able to teach them to do what they long to do for Christ."

Pray With Us

  • Schools across the state (and even in Arizona) are planning Share The Passion outreaches in the next 4 weeks. Pray that the students' plans come together with out opposition, and that they overcome any setbacks.
  • Pray that students rely on God to guide their plans and prepare their hearts to share the gospel with their friends.

Thanks for your prayers. We're glad to have your partnership in ministry through Prayer.

Sincerely,

the California School Project
