Marcos: Considering the Gospel
|
"Hey! Why are you wearing that shirt?" Marcos called out to
Kellee, asking about her orange "Why?" t-shirt. Marcos, a sophomore at Tokay HS, had attended the rally that Tuesday and heard the pastor say how he made a choice to accept God in his life.
Marcos asked Kellee: "Is
it true that you can just make a decision and receive Christ?" That sparked a long
conversation about the need to make a personal decision to accept Jesus. Kellee
gave him several books, and told him to start reading through the gospel of
John. The next day, he was halfway through the book!
Marcos came to the rallies on Wednesday,
Thursday, and Friday and asked lots of questions. "How do you know you're going to heaven? How can I hear God?" Every day Kellee answered some questions and got him thinking more about God.
She asked Marcos if this had been on his mind for a long time: "I never thought about any of this before Monday!" he replied.
That right there is - for Kellee - evidence that the Holy Spirit is working through students at Tokay HS. Before this, Marcos didn't give God a thought, but when Christian students asked Gospel questions at Tokay, he couldn't get enough.
Marcos didn't make a decision for Christ that week, but 4 others did. Two students from the Tokay HS Christian club
are continuing to talk with Marcos about Jesus and answering all his questions. Christian students are working on 12 more like Marcos who have questions and want answers.
Keep
them in your prayers.
50 Students crowd in to hear Pastor Gary share his testimony at Tokay HS on Wednesday, 1/27.
250 students came over the course of the week.
