Looking For Something at Lakewood
|

On a rainy Monday at Lakewood HS, Kerygma Christian Club hosted a rally called "Looking for Something?"
Students were looking for a dry place to eat their lunch, and the 25 that made it into the Gym heard Rachel Oblon, a local youth pastor. She shared a compelling message that connected with students. "The Bible promises: If you look, you're gonna find Him!"

The next day, 40 students came to the gym and heard 2 great stories of God's transforming power from Fawaz and Kristen - guest speakers that club leaders met through their CSP mentors.
Several students, who spent Monday turning down invitations to come inside, sat down to listen in spellbound silence as Fawaz's story came to the point where he says "I felt God telling me 'I love you!"

The upshot of this week at Lakewood: 40 students heard
great gospel presentations and student leaders are steps ahead in
readiness for next time!
Even though turnout was lower than hoped and the gym was not the students venue of choice, they are not discouraged. Sarah, Club President; Mr. Jahns, Club Advisor; and Campus Mentors - Lainey and Brandon; All are looking forward to building on this great first step. According to Brandon, when they first met with the club, students wanted only one rally, in March. Instead, Sarah and her team have already had these two rallies and they plan for another two in the spring!
