"The God of Heaven will give us sucess.
Therefore, we His servants will arise and build."  Nehemiah 2:20

  Greetings!

Did you know that CSP works to help teachers impact their high schools too?  CSP is dedicated to serving students, parents, churches and teachers in their mission to impact their high schools for Christ.
Mr. Eric Buehrer, President Gateways to Better Education President of Gateways to Better Education Speaks to Teachers
Mr. Eric Buehrer, President of Gateways to Better Education, came out to La Habra High School to speak to Christian teachers yesterday.  Mr Buehrer shared resources with these teachers about how they can teach about Christianity and the Bible without fear of legal repercussions.

Thanks to Michael Towson, CSP Mentor, for arranging for Mr. Buehrer's visit.

Excerpts from the History-Social Science Framework for California Public Schools:  2001 Updated Edition with Content Standards, published by the California Department of Education

Grade Five:  U.S. History and Geography
Teachers are expected to teach about the fact that America was "founded on the Judeo Christian heritage, the ideals of the Enlightenment, and English traditions of self-government." (p. 64)

Grade Six:  World History and Geography
"Note the origins of Christianity in the Jewish Messianic prophecies, the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as described in the New Testament, and the contribution of St. Paul the Apostle to the definition and spread of Christian beliefs (e.g., belief in the Trinity, resurrection, salvation)."  (p. 85)

Grade Seven:  World History and Geography
"Students should closely examine the Protestant Reformation and become familiar with the religious beliefs of Martin Luther and John Calvin as well as the history of the English Bible." (p. 91)

Grade Nine:  Elective Course on World Religions
"Students are introduced to...Christianity's continuity with Judaism; its belief that Jesus of Nazareth fulfilled Old Testament expectations of the Messiah; and its faith that in His Crucifixion and Resurrection, Jesus Christ reconciled the world to God so that, through forgiveness of sin, the eternal life of God could now flow into the lives of human beings." (p. 121).

Imagine.  Gateways to Better Education has researched all 50 state's education codes pertaining to Christianity in the classroom.  What state has the most "Christian-friendly" education code?  Would you believe, "California"?

If only every one knew.
