artist seeks to investigate the space of the mortuary - the inorganic and the organic, the familiar and the strange. Ode to Dysfunction is a senior show by MSU Senior Amy Byrum. Amy reflects on her own family dynamics with this series of ink drawings. "The way people interact fascinates me," Amy says. "We need people; we're afraid to be alone. We long for connection. Yet at the same time, it's amazing how we can mistreat each other, neglect our families, become self-absorbed, and overall oblivious to the needs of people we care about. I like exploring these topics, and calling attention to them, but I like doing so with an air of sarcasm and satire." (417) 865-7055 www.goodgirlartgallery.com Open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. T-Sat
