Slovenia

Slovenia, part of the former Yougoslavia is a country in the heart of Europe. This small country bordered by Austria, Hungary, Croatia and Italy offers exceptional natural sights and cultural highlights.

Slovenia's natural beauty has earned it many nicknames; Europe in Miniature, The Sunny Side of the Alps and The Green Piece of Europe. From the beaches to snow-capped mountains, hills awash in grapevines and wide plains blanketed in sunflowers to Gothic churches, baroque palaces and historic castles, Slovenia offers more diversity than countries many times its size.

Slovenia waterfallThe capital Ljubljana is a wealth of culture, sights, activities and good old-fashioned fun.  Bled is a magical must see!

Cappadocia hotelCappadocia is a region in central Turkey known for its UNESCO World Heritage site the Goreme National Park.  The many rock churches; also known as "fairy chimney" can still be seen today.  From the 4th to 13th century AD, occupants of the area dug tunnels into the exposed rock face to build residences, stores, and churches which are home to irreplaceable Byzatine art.
 Cappadocia balloons

Cappadocia is known around the world as one of the best places to hot air balloon. Floating effortlessly just an arms stretch away from the tops of the fairy-chimneys, fruit trees and then ascending high above the ice cream coloured ravines, it's the perfect way to experience the beautiful destination.

Tips for Preventing Passport Problems

Apply for a new passport at least 3 months before your departure date. For a renewal, start 8 to 11 months before your passport expires.

When applying for a new passport you will need to provide a certified copy of your birth certificate and a valid driver's license for proof of identity.

For a passport renewal, your previous passport serves as both proof of citizenship and proof of identity. It cannot be mutilated, altered, or damaged in any way.

You must send two identical passport photos taken within the last 6 months. They must be 2x2 inches with a plain white or off-white background. The photos must be in color.

Request additional pages - If your a frequent traveler ask for a 52-page passport at no additional cost. It will allow you to travel longer before replacing it.

Make a copy of your passport and photos and take them with you on your trip. (Either a paper copy or store on your smartphone).

Keep your passport in a safe place. Never leave your passport in your baggage, automobile or hotel room .Upon arrival at the hotel, put your passport in the hotel safe.

Immediately report the loss or theft of your passport to the local police and then proceed to the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Take the copy of your passport and extra photos with you. You will be issued a temporary passport that you can replace upon returning to the United States.

Always store your passport in a safe place.
