Greetings from EAC!

Hello Giants,

What are your fondest memories of EAC?

Some may say it includes the lifelong friends, the teachers, the study hall breaks, the spiderman lunchboxes, or even the days spent at Rancho. But surely many will say that they enjoyed spending some time at the picnic tables, under the shade of those glorious trees.  

The picnic tables are part of our history. They were built in the early 70's (our best guess...) and have served for different purposes such as teaching space, meeting point, conference room (!) and, of course, for lunch breaks. However, after being used for more than 40 years and by who knows how many kids, that area needed some renovation. 

We're now proud to inform you that, as part of our 2008-2017 Master Plan, the picnic tables and the barbecue area have now been totally renovated! The tables were made of knock down wood from previous EAC constructions and the barbecue area is completely equipped with "churrasqueira a gás", horizontal cooler and serving spaces. Check out the pictures! 

Our alumni will have the chance to try our new picnic tables at next year's Alumni Day which will now be celebrated separately from our Welcome Back Picnic as requested. So save the date! Our Alumni Day will be held on August 11, 2012 - we will have games and barbecue for you and your familes.

Talking about memories, we have just started a Memories Committee at EAC to help rescue, reconstruct and document the social-cultural and historical memory of EAC from its inception to date. Mariana Medeiros, from the class of 2006 and EAC teacher assistant, has volunteered to be the connection between the committee and our alumni. Soon, she will be contacting some of you to ask for your help as we go through this important project.  

Last but not least,  we would like to invite everyone for our Halloween Festival to be held on October 29th, from 6 to 10pm. Get your spooky costume and join us in the fun!
