Employee of the Month-
Tessa Sulimirski
If you have ever called or visited our Buford office, chances are that you have spoken to Tessa Sulimirski. She's the effervescent voice of Amigos for Christ. Tessa coordinates several
important operations for us: mission trips, goods and supplies, and fundraising event logistics. Ever resourceful, Tessa suggested the Pay it Forward Program to us several years ago and it has become our most appealing project. She too, delighted in vaccinating and delivering chickens (see above and right) during the San Jose mission trip.  Tessa deeply feels the call to service and it accentuates all aspects of her life.  She is most proud of her family: husband Mark, and 3 children. Her eldest, Anna, 18, is a summer intern this year in Nicaragua and hopes to someday head our medical mission.
 Blessings Tessa!
Help Re-NEW old Wells!
Happy family with new water spout
Over the past 10 years Amigos for Christ has drilled over 80 water wells in communities all over Nicaragua.
Age has taken a toll on some of these wells and they are in desperate need of repair and water quality testing.  Please help us continue to provide clean water to thousands of people each year by clicking here.

News from Amigos!
Issue: 5 June/ 2009
Greetings!

Summer mission activity is hitting its stride! Every week new and returning groups pass through the Casa Blanca, our guest house in Chinandega. Each person and each group brings extraordinary talents and incredible spirit to our mission, whether they hail from California, Colorado, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Georgia, Indiana, Canada or anywhere between. We are blessed to know them. God has brought us together for His good. Enjoy the beautiful season wherever you are!
Groups Go Back and Give Back!
Delivering PigsThis month we salute two groups who gave back to the communities they grew so close to during their mission
stay.

Pictured right is a very exciting day for members of the San Jose, California group and the people of the community Dulce Nombre de Jesus.

During the 2008 Christmas season, Holy Spirit Church in San Jose raised enough funds for our Pay it Forward Program to provide 7 cows, 20 pigs and 220 chicks to poor families like this. They also had the rare pleasure of delivering animals to the recipient families!  Our program is based on The Heifer Project, an animal distribution program bringing animals and opportunity to needy families around the world. Read more about Pay it Forward and how you can help on the Business Opportunity Projects area of our website.

Washington, North CarolinaThe photo to the left shows the group from Washington, North Carolina busily working on a house for a family in Villa Catalina.  In addition to raising all the money to fund the project, they came close to finishing the full construction of the house in the single week they spent in Nicaragua!

Be it for a week, a month or many years, thank you to all the groups and missionaries who take time out of their lives to share their spirit and love with the people of Nicaragua!  Click here to read about what mission groups are doing right now in Nicaragua!

New Amigos Land!
We affectionately call our guest house in Chinandega "Casa Blanca" and it has served us well through 5 years of mission group activity. Alas, the old house is showing its age and we Doug Curlinghave outgrown its limited space, inside and out. We are proud to announce that we've just broken ground on a future Amigos complex just steps away from Casa Blanca. It will include a warehouse to store our well drilling supplies, construction equipment, and project supplies. We will also have a guest/retreat house designed for our visiting groups and office space for our 30 Nicaraguan employees (including a kitchen for Patricia!).  The location next to Betania gives us the potential to host seminars, retreats, Young Life Club, and sports events for the local Chinandega community. We thank the supporters who are making the complex a reality and we promise to treat it with care and respect through the coming years.
