GatehouseLANDFILL EMPLOYEES
Most landfill employees want to do a good job.  Here are some suggestions for improving employee morale and productivity:

1. Consider providing uniforms, at least shirts or jackets.   This helps motivate employees to be part of the team.  It gives them authority in terms of how landfill customers look at them.

2.  Put up a suggestion box, so they can comment and give ideas on how to improve the landfill and let them know you are listening to them and value their ideas.

3.  Consider offering a bonus for any ideas that are implemented successfully.  This could be a cap, jacket or maybe even a free dinner. 

4.  Making sure spotters and gatehouse attendants are courteous, knowledgeable and understand their jobs is vitally important to the landfill.   Train these employees on how to deal with difficult customers.
