Does your landfill receive a lot of compost materials, but doesn't have a composting program? This could be a real issue for you in terms of airspace. Consider sponsoring or holding a "how-to-compost day." It wouldn't have to be held at your landfill, but it may be good PR to have it there. Invite your local regulators and environmental groups to participate. By educating the public, you may cut the amount of compost you are receiving.
Are you trying to encourage landfill customers to take a load of compost material home with them? Make it easy as possible by maintaining a small stockpile of compost material at the exit gate, with a nice, big sign that says "Free Compost" or "Compost $5.
If your landfill is making compost, never be tempted to landfill that material. If you can't sell it or get rid of it, save it and use it for slide-slope dressing for erosion control.
