According to Cal-Fire's 2007 report on Wildfire Activity Statistics, the two most common identifiable ignition sources for wildfires is debris burning and equipment use.

That's right: ironically, using equipment - often to cut weeds and brush for fire prevention ...is one of the most common causes of wildfire.  There's something wrong with that picture.

Here at Terra-Track, we are aware of this problem ...and we're doing something about it.  Because when it comes to using power tools to remove brush, our power tool is as big as they come.

So we've developed a comprehensive and pro-active fire control plan.  Wondering about our plan?  Here are a few key parts:

1)    We start our day by cutting a defensible perimeter around our work zone.  We do this first: while the temperature is low and there may still be some dew.  Then, throughout the day, we work inside that perimeter, widening it as we go.

2)    We also keep our machines as clean as possible, never allowing a buildup of flammable debris that could lead to an equipment fire.

3)    We also utilize a Rokon motorcycle, equipped with a Compressed Air Foam (CAF) based fire suppression system.  It's like a portable, all-terrain fire engine ...and it travels all over the jobsite, providing general support and fire prevention.
