We're right in the middle of the summer and it's been a sizzling one for many.

If you missed last week's radio show with Dr. Romance, it's now available on demand and is filled with dating advice that you can't afford to miss if you're newly single.

You may hear it often. Everyone lies in their online dating profiles. But is this true? My friends at OkCupid just released their poll of their members. You'll be surprised at some of their findings and may relate to others. My post, Why People Lie in their Online Dating Profiles addresses this hot topic. In addition, On Thursday, July 29th, I will be a guest on VoiceAmerica radio on a segment called, The Big Lie at 7am.

Singles are signing up for Irresistible coaching. Think about the best commercial you have seen on TV. It was a collaborative effort between writers, producers, and stars. The star, of course is you! Let us help you become so irresistible, that you'll have an overflowing inbox.

As always, thank you for sharing your online dating stories and let us know you like us on Facebook.

Featured Article - Why People Lie
Lately, more than ever, the subject of lying in one's cyberdating profile has become a hot topic. Some have become accustomed to the age, height, and income exaggerations for the benefit of showing up in a search.
It appears that lying on your profile has become a bit of an epidemic.

OkCupid sent me an email with their latest statistical great post in OkTrends called The Big Lies People Tell in Online Dating.

Let's take a deeper look at OkCupid's findings, which are not shocking.

1. Height - Reality: People are 2 inches shorter in real life. If you have read my book, The Perils of Cyber-Dating: Confessions of a Hopeful Romantic Looking for Love Online, which was released on Valentine's Day in 2009, there is a chapter called "Profile Definitions." In this chapter I list a side-by-side comparison of 21 profile definitions.

My first entry simply said:
WHAT THEY SAY: Male: Height 5 feet, seven inches
WHAT THEY MEAN: Male: Height 5 feet, five inches

It appears things have not changed in the past few years.

2. Income - Reality: People are 20% poorer than they say they are.
OkCupid says that apparently, an online dater's imagination is the best performing mutual fund of the last 10 years. I have to agree. More often than not, men are not putting their income on their profiles so they don't have to see for themselves what the economy has done. Others aren't interested in finding gold diggers.

3. Photos - REALITY: The more attractive the picture, the more likely it is to be out-of-date.

Peril of the Week - The Movie Date
Peril of the WeekI personally believe that chivalry is alive and well. I find it quite sexy and appealing when a man opens a door, pulls out a chair, and takes care of your parking on a date.  Like it or not, it's also usually customary for a gentleman to treat the woman on a first or second date. It doesn't need to be extravagant, but the one who does the asking, is usually the same one who picks up the tab.

And so the story goes with the intelligent man who invited his online date to go see a movie. The two had their first date the week earlier and the conversation just flowed. It only seemed appropriate when he contacted her the following day to put a second date on the calendar. He suggested a movie and let her make the selection. The theatre was decided upon and they were scheduled to meet at 7:00pm.

As it got closer to their meeting time, the gentleman sent a text message saying that he was running late for their movie date. He requested that she pick up the tickets and she complied. When he arrived, she handed him the tickets and he made a huge mistake. He didn't offer to pay her back for the tickets. A bit stunned, she wondered why, considering he had asked her to the movies.
