Al-Bustan welcomes your year-end support. . . and wishes you the best this holiday season!

Dear Friends,
This has been an exciting year at Al-Bustan! More people of diverse backgrounds and ages have experienced first-hand the richness of Arab culture thorough high-quality music and literary performances by Philadelphia Arab Music Ensemble, Simon Shaheen, Moustafa Bayoumi, and Nathalie Handal; educators have learned about theory and performance by delving into the study of Arab music; while youth have gained artistic skills, explored their heritage, and expressed their identity through weekly school-based arts classes and summer camp.
We trust you share our belief in the important and unique role that Al-Bustan plays in the Philadelphia area and beyond.
For those of you who have already made a donation this year, We Thank You greatly and appreciate your support.
If you are considering making a contribution to Al-Bustan, now is the time!
Although we have been successful at obtaining multi-year grants, such as the National Endowment for the Arts for the fourth consecutive year, given the state of the economy and cuts we have faced from city and state funding agencies and private foundations, now more than ever, we need YOU to demonstrate that you value what we do and want us to offer scholarships and free opportunities for people to engage in Arab arts.
Please click here to make your tax-deductible donation online or by check.

It was heartwarming to end the semester of music programs with performances at three public schools, Science Leadership Academy, Moffet, and Penn Alexander, and with the Philadelphia Arab Music Ensemble at UPenn. Thanks to all who participated and attended!
From all the Al-Bustan Staff and Board, we wish you a peaceful and prosperous New Year - kul aam wintum bikhayr! With much appreciation for your support,
Hazami Sayed
Executive Director
PS: Sign up to join the Philadelphia Arab Music Ensemble at Villanova or Swarthmore campus. And save the date of March 13, 2011 when we welcome Lebanese composer/musician Marcel Khalife in Philadelphia.
