Our partnership with Germantown Friends School included a wonderful student performance on Oct 27, the highlight of which was seeing all the 7th graders singing Marcel Khalife's Asfoor... see the video here.

Al-Bustan's Poet-in-Residence:  Nathalie Handal

We are  pleased to host Nathalie Handal for a five-day poetry residency at Northeast High School, with the support of Middle East Center of UPenn.  Nathalie's work with Philadelphia School District students will culminate on November 19 with a performance of poetry and music of Arab, Jewish, and African American traditions, in partnership with Intercultural Journeys artists:  Udi Bar-David - cello, Hanna Khoury - violin, Hafez El Ali Kotain - percussion, and Keisha Hutchins - vocals.  Contact us if you would like to attend the 1:30pm performance at NEHS.
