The Women in Business Council of the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce presents its first quarterly event of 2012, "Great Minds DON'T Think Alike," featuring Renee Weisman on Tuesday, March 27. The topic will focus on how men and women think differently.

Renee Weisman, owner of Winning at Work Consulting, was one of the first female engineers, managers, executives, and working mothers in the male-dominated semiconductor industry. The Northern Palm Beach County Chamber held its first breakfast event at the DoubleTree Hotel in Palm Beach Gardens on Wednesday, March 21. Nearly 150 Chamber members and local business leaders attended the event to network and listen to a presentation by Palm Beach County Inspector General, Sheryl Steckler. NEW Northern Palm Beach County Chamber App

The Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce is launching its first FREE mobile app. for iPhone, Android and Blackberry. The app. is scheduled for completion in time for the 2012 State of the Chamber during Business Before Hours on Wednesday, June 20.
Below are just a few features that the new app will offer:
1. Connect and network with other members on the go Our app has our directory, right at your fingertips.
3. Your app is your map! The app's GPS system maps the phone to your business address with point-by-point directions.
4. Use the "Near Me" function to find new businesses in Northern Palm Beach County. Shop local. Buy local.
5. Attend our chamber and community events. RSVP and invite others through the app.

The Gardens Mall will host a spectacular Men's Fashion Show to benefit the Arc of Palm Beach County on Thursday, March 29. Join us for Business After Hours from 5-7pm before heading to the mall to watch community and business leaders including Chamber CEO, Ed Chase, Ken Kennerly and John Carr model for a great cause.

The Town of Lake Park will host a free "Florida Barbecue Challenge" at its beautiful Downtown area on March 23rd - 24th from 11am-8pm. The entry fee is $175 and will allow contestants to compete in four categories: ribs, chicken, brisket and pork. The grand prize winner will take home $1,500 and a trophy. The Max Planck Florida Foundation announced that Palm Beach residents Howard and Pat Lester have made a significant donation through the David Minkin Foundation to name the lobby of the Max Planck Florida Institute's (MPFI's) new 100,000-sq.-ft. biomedical research facility on Florida Atlantic University's MacArthur campus in Jupiter. With the new building scheduled to open in June 2012, MPFI is currently operating out of temporary space located on the Jupiter campus.
