Getting creative with Guest Book content
Many newspapers are finding innovative ways to incorporate Guest Books into their coverage of prominent local and national deaths.
Recently, Boston.com reached out to us for help with an ambitious multimedia package they were preparing on Edward Kennedy.
Our tech team consulted with their designers and we were able to create an RSS feed that allowed them to prominently display users' messages of remembrance and condolence outside the confines of the Guest Book itself.
"Unfortunately, Ted's death occurred before we had a chance to fully implement the piece," said a Boston.com designer. Instead, they used selected Guest Book entries on a "Your Memories" section in the Boston.com homepage in their full coverage page.
It's a great example of papers finding creative ways to incorporate user-generated content into their coverage of important events. If you're curious to learn more about how newspapers are finding innovative uses for the Guest Book, please don't hesitate to contact marketing@legacy.com. |
Affiliates see per notice revenue increase
Good news - the latest Q2 statistics show that Legacy affiliates in the U.S. have experienced an average per notice revenue share increase of nearly 35% over last year. Affiliate revenue share is compromised of revenue from advertising programs and online product sales.
The increase is the result of many ongoing efforts. Our redesigned Guest Book and affiliate sites have created new advertising opportunities and have allowed for better promotion of our online products. We're working hard to see that this positive trend for our affiliates continues through 2009 and beyond. Contact marketing@legacy.com to learn more about growing your per notice revenue. |
