Prophetic Word

"But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation."
(1 Cor 14:3)

"It is not a time to fear, but a time to lean into Me. Draw comfort and wisdom from the Scriptures. As you choose Me, you will find your peace increasing as you begin to delight in how I move. I can solve any problem and I can bring treasure out of hidden places.

As My Spirit opens your eyes, some faulty concepts are going to be revealed so that you may let go of them and receive My truth. You will experience My liberty with joy as you walk in greater release. It's My kingdom that is advancing, bringing transformation.

Do you seek My kingdom advance? Are you being filled with hopeful anticipation at the mighty work I am doing?
Delight in My wisdom and My love for you. Settle it within your soul that you choose Me, My kingdom, My glory over all."

"..Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you" Is 41:10.

Not a Normal Visit

Here's a fresh insight a friend shared with me. I hope you enjoy it! -- Donna

The story of Martha and Mary is told in Luke chapter 10 beginning in verse 38:  "The Lord and his disciples were traveling along and came to a village. When they got there, a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.  She had a sister named Mary, who sat down in front of the Lord and was listening to what he said.  Martha was worried about all that had to be done.  Finally, she went to Jesus and said, "Lord, doesn't it bother you that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself?  Tell her to come and help me!"  The Lord answered, "Martha, Martha! You are worried and upset about so many things, but only one thing is necessary.  Mary has chosen what is best, and it will not be taken away from her." (CEV)

When discussing this story, Christians often debate about whether Martha was really wrong in trying to prepare and serve Jesus and whether Mary was really right in not helping her sister prepare to serve the Lord.  After all, when guests come to your house, aren't you concerned about whether your house is presentable and whether you have refreshments or a meal to serve, and isn't your concern even greater when your guests are very special or important?

Yet, God said, Mary had the better way.  Although caring about your guests is obviously important, Martha did not discern the time or the season she was living in.  She did not recognize that Jesus' visit was not a normal visit-it was a divine encounter and an hour of impartation.  Martha missed her opportunity to enjoy Jesus and receive from Him because she did not recognize the uniqueness of the visit.  Instead, she viewed it as a normal visit and, as was her custom, she went about preparing to serve her guests.

I believe that Mary understood that Jesus' visit was a special encounter.  She wanted to receive all she could during this special time.  Mary knew it was a time to lay down the normal, physical aspects of caring for guests and to focus instead on the spiritual aspects of this once in a lifetime visit from the Lord.  Mary knew that this was not the time to cook and eat but a time when God wanted to give to her something that was eternal.

Are we missing what God has for us today by not discerning the times?  Are we open to laying down all in order to sit at His feet?  Are we willing to stop what we are doing and let God speak to us?  Are we so busy with our own agendas that we are not able to receive what God wants to give?

Now is a time to fast and to pray.  Now is the time to sit at the feet of Jesus.  Do not miss your divine visitation.

Mary chose the better way.
