Prophetic Word
"For he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification and exhortation and consolation." 1 Cor 14:3
I have given you overcoming grace to rise up and meet every challenge. When you feel you are at your limit, know that in your weakness, I am strong. I may be stretching you or allowing your comfort to be challenged, but you are just as an athlete in training, and I am making you strong and victorious. As you look to me, I will lead you and teach you how to overcome.
At times, I work on showing you the places where personal growth is needed and where character, faith, and love are lacking. I train and coach you to move forward into the potential have placed inside of you as my very own child-- with My very seed indwelling you. Have you thought about what that really means? What potential lies undiscovered in you?
As you trust in My love and the complete work of redemption on the Cross, you will find yourself increasingly free and secure, knowing that you are never alone. I do not watch from a distance. I am partnering with you and moving to bring you into the fullness of your inheritance as one created in My very image.
Give thought to the driving motivations of your heart, and see how much is faith and love or how much is doubt and fear. Know that I do not reproach you, but am your Companion, your Encourager, and the One you can trust to always look out for your best interests.
I know your heart is to live the life I gave you with joy, delight, and satisfaction. I know how I have made you. Trust Me to bring you past every obstacle to that fulfillment in order to face it and overcome it with abundant grace.
Do you know who you really are? Do you understand what it means to be made in My image with the very life of God within you?
(2 Cor 3:18) But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Worldviews and the Election
As Christians and citizens with the right and freedom to vote, I encourage you to make sure your voice is heard on Election Day.
Many are calling for prayer. Many others are also spreading the word on their chosen candidates.
Some are calling for voters to cast the ballot based upon race or gender or political party.
To me, that's not the issue at hand. The real consideration is the worldview of the candidates.
A worldview is the internal belief system that provides a perspective on every category of life, including:
- Law
- Politics
- Ethics
- Economics
As Christians, our first loyalty is to the Kingdom of God and to be salt and light in the earth. That loyalty also means our minds are to be renewed by the Word of God so that we have a Biblical worldview with which to influence our community and government as citizens in a free country. As a Christian and a citizen, I will vote for those candidates whose platform is closest to that worldview. It is after all, the platform which undergirds, shapes, and directs the policies of that candidate. As much as any candidate may intend to make a difference, the political forces he or she is involved with are the real power behind the office.
I am sure all the candidates and their running mates mean well, but their driving belief systems and those of their party are what we need to examine. Many disastrous policies have been set in operation by people who have meant well.
I believe every church should teach a class to its members on the difference between worldviews, to educate people who are being influenced by opposing worldviews on every side such as Marxism/Socialism and Humanism.
Each worldview has its own perspective on the how the individual, family, and society should function in their relation to one another. There are some clear boundary lines drawn in Scripture which other worldviews do not acknowledge.
So yes, pray and do your research. You will not find a perfect candidate or party, but when it comes to your decision on how to cast your ballot, be a Biblically-minded Christian first.

Provoked to Love
I remember an incident years ago in which I was in conversation with a few other people, and I made some kind of critical remarks, which I do not remember now. What I do remember is what happened next.
One of my friends got up from her chair at the table, came over and put her arm around me. She looked me in the eye and said, "You know, I've learned a lot from you, but what you just said..." She proceeded to quietly point out my error in front of the group. I apologized and things got back to normal.
When someone wants to gossip and revile in your presence, do you just call it "venting" and let it go unchallenged?
Many years before that, another incident happened. I had been involved in a gathering of young people caught up in the Jesus Movement in the 70's. After a period of time, my passion for the things of God began to die down. One day at work, my boss's husband was passing by the breakroom where I was seated. He stopped and looked at me and said with a serious look on his face, "Donna, remember He's number one!" It dramatically impacted me.
Do you have a friend like that?
Are you a friend like that?
Love does what is necessary, not what is always easy or comfortable. Nor will it always be understood or appreciated.
Take courage. Love never fails.
"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (John 13:35)
