First Priority held its third City-Wide Network Luncheon of the year on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, in the Michael Jordan Banquet Room at Regions Park. Nearly 100 youth leaders attended for a time of equipping, encouragement and fellowship. Everyone enjoyed a delicious meal provided by Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q.
Special Guest and Founder of First Priority Benny Proffitt brought an inspirational message about redefining success in youth ministry. Benny said successful youth ministry is making disciples. He said disciples are people that are like Jesus. Benny focused on four ways to create disciples:
RAISE - A leadership team; a plan to pray
REACH - Non-threatening creative evangelism - First Priority Campus Ministry
RESTORE - Parent/student discipleship; bible study and worship - Ephesians 4:23-24
RELEASE - Developing servant leaders; ministry and missions
