clubhouse w/crisDear Parents,
Welcome to the new school year.  We are all so delighted to have students filling our hallways and classrooms, once again.  We want each family to feel welcome, visit often and be a part of the daily life at Columbine.

Columbine is poised and staffed for another great year.  We are so excited to have Shellie Lasiter joining our talented support team.  She has quickly established herself as an incredible resource to our students and staff.  We have also added Gordon Garrett to our hard working custodial staff.  If at any time you would like to know your child's teachers qualifications, you may contact me at the school office.

I have just a couple of quick reminders that will help us ensure every child's safety.
*     The parking lot lane that is closest to the sidewalk is a flow lane only.  It is not intended for parking at any time.  Please move slowly and carefully whenever you are driving in the parking lot.
*    We have supervision on the playground from 8:30 until the first bell rings at 8:40.  Your child is welcome to arrive after 8:30.  We do not have supervision for them prior to that time in the morning.

Just a few days into school, we have had numerous sightings of our local bear population.  If your child walks to school, please be aware of the situation and make plans for your child to make it safely to and from school.

Finally, we will be giving your family the option to access our newsletter on line again this year.  We certainly understand if you would prefer to have your newsletter printed on paper.  We will be happy to honor your preference.  Our hope is that we will be able to greatly reduce our use of paper through our thoughtful actions.

Thank you for your continuous involvement in our wonderful school,
Cris Gammill

Columbine Pledges to Remain a Green School

Ecology Recycling
The staff and students have pledged to remain a Green School.  In an effort to conserve resources and save money on paper, Columbine is making the newsletter available on the Columbine website.  The website can be found at www.wpsdk12.org/~colweb/  you may also sign up to receive the newsletter through the "Email Newsletters" on the Woodland Park School District website www.wpsdk12.org

If you are unable to receive newsletters through email and wish to receive a hard copy of the monthly newsletter, please let the office know.

In keeping with the Green School pledge, in some instances, we will only send home one per family some of the informational papers you receive throughout the year.
