Dear Families:

This time of the year always causes me to reflect on the many things that I am thankful for.  I'd like to share some of them with you.

I am thankful for:
  • The children.  Their bright smiles and love of learning is such a joy to see every day!
  • Such a caring group of people to work with.  The staff has such huge hearts for the children who enter the school.  Their commitment to student academic and social growth goes far beyond the school hours.
  • Volunteers in our school.  Thank you for graciously giving us your time and talents to support our students.
  • Your support.  We had a wonderful turn out for conferences.  By partnering together, we can make such a positive impact on your child's growth.
  • This beautiful area we call home.  It's so easy to take for granted our lovely surroundings.  I tell many people, "We have the best playground view!"
  • My family.  Hold tight to your loved ones whether far or near.

Wishing you all a healthy and safe Thanksgiving Break!

With kids in mind and heart,
Kay Lynn Waddell

NOVEMBER MUSIC HAPPENINGS

Our music classes have enjoyed singing fall songs and songs for Halloween during the month of October.  Our composer of the month for October was Camille Saint-Saens.  The two compositions we studied were Carnival of the Animals (all grades) and Danse Macabre (Grades 2-5).

During November we will continue singing fall songs, learn some Thanksgiving songs, and study Native American culture through songs, dances and instruments.  Our composer for the month of November will be Gioachino Rossini. The compositions we will study are Comic Duet for Two Cats and the William Tell Overture.
