"Selecting A Back Up Parent For Your Child"

Charles D. Jamieson, Esquire

The issue of the custody of Michael Jackson's children has sparked conversations on many issues among divorce attorneys in West Palm Beach, Florida and elsewhere.  One of those issues concerns the declaration of a pre-need guardian by a parent for their child.  The discovery of Michael Jackson's 2002 Will has revealed that Katherine Jackson, Michael's mother, was named as the legal guardian of his three children and that if she were to die or become incapacitated, then singer Diana Ross would assume custody of the children.

A legal guardian is an adult designated to care for your child in the event that you and your child's other parent both die or become incapacitated before your child reaches adulthood.

Facing your own potential mortality and frailty as a human being is a daunting and sobering task.  No one likes to think about these painful issues and wants to avoid them at all costs.  However, as mindful and dedicated parents, we often face and deal with such issues for the best interests of our children. By Charles D. Jamieson, Esq.
Board Certified Attorney In Marital And Family Law

Experienced family lawyers in West Palm Beach are accustomed to representing wealthy people in their divorces. Because of their income and assets, these individuals may have lavish lifestyles. However, a break up of a wealthy couple will cause even the most jaded divorce attorney to take notice. Such is the dissolution of marriage case of 67 years old George David and 37 years old Marie Douglas. Three years into their seven year marriage, the parties signed a post-nuptial agreement that provided to the wife 43 million dollars in stock, hedge fund shares, jewelry, and properties in Sweden (the native country of the wife) and the amount of an additional 4 million dollars. The wife has attempted to vacate the agreement during the pending divorce and asserts that these amounts are insufficient to support her lifestyle.

Free Marketing Tips:
Is Social Media For Everyone?

Be Specific For Best Results:
To get the most out of your efforts there are some specific things you need to do. More than ever you have to focus on building good relationships in business. The Internet allows you to do this on a global level, but as much as this global reach can help you, it can hinder and harm your reputation.

The main thing to remember is there are people on the other end of your messages and postings. You will benefit greatly by getting in the mindset of relationship marketing.

It's about Relationship Marketing
Social networks encourage various types of relationship marketing. They also encourage and support (most do) activity that can be commercial, social or a combination of the two. Depending on the Social Network, many of these online community members share a common interest such as hobbies, religion, professional, cultural, or politics.

Think of Social Networks in terms of any network you build, whether online or off. There are some people you would gladly associate with, while others you would not. Establish criteria for who you will accept in your network.

The thing about being involved in a Social Network is you have to nurture what you are doing. You have to spend time in it and as with anything else the more you put into it the more you get out.

Are They For Everyone?
Some people wonder, "Is Social Networking for everyone?" My response would be "Absolutely yes, if you have the time or the right professional to do it". The Internet world is here to stay, and you don't want to be left out. But if that is not enough to convince you, then the best way to find out if Social Networking is for you is to explore it. Social networks are tools that can be used to increase our effectiveness. Use them wisely.

Useful Tools on The Internet:

Mollom - To Spot high quality content, stop spam and save time

BugMeNot - Bypass compulsory registration sites that request your email and contact information. Very helpful tool. Check it out!

OnlineClock - You will love this one!
