WWII Vetern's Honored
Photo's Needed
The alumni room is doing a pictorial presentation on Viking Heroes of WW ll.We are requesting small snapshots of you or any Viking you know who went to NE during the war years. We are looking for small pictures of you or your Viking loved one in uniform or at play. We are looking for homeland pictures, pictures of victory gardens or of you at work in one of the many defense plants,some right here in KC.For those in the military please include their rank, branch of service, location of service and their years at NE, if known.For homeland pictures where and of what was it taken. Some pictures and memorabilia are starting to come in.
Currently we have run across a small treasure of WW ll memorabilia. A picture of a landing craft nicknamed the "Viking" which was paid for by the students and staff at NE, through war stamps, bonds, scrap and oil drives. We've also come across a wonderful picture of the student body forming a V for Victory on the parade ground. Sadly a very special treasure is a list of our boys lost during WW II.
We would like to continue the display into the fall by honoring ALL of our military warriors from 1914 to today's young people. Our display will morph each month until Veterans day where we will have collected all Viking service personnel past and present, so that we may honor them on Veteran's Day, November 8th. After the display we would like to put all of these items into a scrapbook for future generations of Viking to honor.

Alumni Recognition Day

Hosted by Northeast High School and the Principal.
All meals are compliments of NEHS...
Schedule Of Activities
8:00 - 10:00 Registration by Alumni Association
The day will start with the N Club Committee breakfast for all alumni, students, teachers, including all coaches and assistants, in the cafeteria on the lower level, elevator available. Breakfast will be served compliments of NEHS.
The N Club plans a very interesting meeting, with First team super stars, Robert Fagan and Max Dix, giving us a play by play description of their, 1948 NEHS, Football Championship Team.
10:00 to .. 11:00 ...Tour the community
11:00 - 11:30 a.m. social walk around the Track ( football field )
11:30 - 12:30.. Lunch COMPLIMENTS OF NEHS
2:30 - 3:30...Alumni Room, hosted by NEHS Alumni Board
3:30 - 6:00...Dinner & Dance. COMPLIMENTS OF NEHS.
Sports activities from the Athletic Director, Jim Conaway is as follows:
Around 7:30 am, the baseball team will leave NEHS for the district tournament - the track team leaves for the district meet about 9:00 am, the band will be leaving for a performance in Kansas City, Kansas, about 9:30 am.
Lets have a big sendoff and show our support for these teams.
Also, the girls soccer team defeated Renaissance 8 - 0 on Monday and beat Southwest 6 - 1 on Tuesday..
How's that for top athletics of Northeast High School.
