To Jerry Slavens, "N" Club,
My name is Larry Myers, I am a 1971 graduate of Northeast and lettered in
football for 2 years. I applaud and embrace the mission statement of the "N"
Club. I would like to join you. However, I'm currently deployed in Iraq for a
year and will not be back in town until late January 2010 (if we're not
extended). Please keep me posted on your activities. You can use my e-mail

Again, job well done in forming this group.

Each year our Northeast High School Alumni
Association hosts an annual Benefit Dinner/Dance & Golf Tournament to raise funds
to support our Northeast scholarship program.
Northeast has many economically disadvantaged students...but they are
not in the least scholastically disadvantaged! Not only are these students enrolled in
courses that support the field of their future studies, they are volunteering
in those fields as well. And most
students are working additional jobs while taking college prep courses through
Penn Valley. Our goal is to give these
deserving students an opportunity for a better life through education. Our
ability to support these scholarships is reliant upon our annual fundraiser and
your generosity.
This years Dinner/Dance is being held Friday, June 19, 2009
at the Marriott Courtyard in Blue Springs, Mo.
Cocktails are from 6-7 pm, Buffet Dinner from 7 to 9 pm and dancing from
8:30 to midnight. The cost of the dinner
is $50.00 per person. There will be a
hospitality room open at the hotel for those arriving on Thursday evening.
The 19th annual NE Golf Tournament will be held
the next day on Saturday, June 20th at Bent Oak Golf Club in Oak
Grove, Mo. Start time is 7 am for
pre-tournament and tournament starting at 8 am (rain or shine). The tournament is open to all those who
wish to play! A lunch buffet
will be included after playing the course.
The cost for the day is $110. We
will be playing a great course with good friends (and making some new ones) for
a truly great cause!
We invite you to be a part of our efforts by participating
in the following ways:
Sponsoring a hole $250-$1000 (plays free), playing in the
tournament ($110), monetary contribution or donation of prizes for auction,
product or services donated, that will be auctioned off Friday night and
Saturday through the luncheon at the golf tournament.
For this support you will receive the following:
Prominent
recognition in the newsletter distributed to 8500 alumni, name
on the northeastvikings.org website, A fun
day of golf if you play in the tournament, the satisfaction
that you have helped make a difference in a life and......
!!!A
true appreciation for your participation!!!
Donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law.
We look forward to making this the most successful year to date. Together we can make it happen!

Word From Vikes Athletic Director
Ex-Chief New Football Coach
I would like to offer my services to the Alumni Assoc. Currently I am the Athletic Director at Northeast High School. As we look to purchase a new washing machine for our athletic needs, I ask if we have an alum who sells this product. We would prefer to purchase it from a Viking. Also, we are looking for a NHS ALUM who is a medical doctor in the KC area. We need a sports physician to assist us with sport physicals etc. We could offer some things in return. As a former football coach at the Univ. of Missouri, Michigan State,Colorado, etc.,I have had the pleasure of being associated with numerous Northeast Alums like Ted Chittwood. Your efforts to organize the "N Club" is great. If there is anything I can do to assist your efforts, please feel free to ask. If you could forward this to the necessary parties, I would appreciate it. We recently hired former KC Chief-Kimble Anders- to be our new football coach.Sincerely,Coach Steve Schottel, ADNortheast High School"GO VIKINGS"
