Medical Equipment Donations
Vern Soderstrom from the North County Council on Aging picking up DME donations from DMCC
If you have durable medical equipment that you no longer need, you can donate it to DMCC.
We keep frequently used items - such as wheelchair and walker - to loan out when needed.
Excess equipment is given to the North County Council on Aging who distributes it to low-income seniors in need who would not otherwise be able to afford it.

To borrow or donate equipment contact DMCC at 858-792-7565.

The In-Home Connections Program is Going Strong!

In-Home Connections matches members with volunteers to give seniors  the resources they need to continue to live independently, in their own homes, as long as possible.  Here is what some of our IHC members and their families are saying:

We are so fortunate to have this program available to us.  To have people you trust give you rides to the doctor and the grocery store and to help you get your home organized--what a blessing!  I feel very well taken care of, and my daughter loves it.  It gives both of us peace of mind knowing that I have this support system.  I no longer feel isolated, I now feel "connected". - Jennie Vance

The wonderful volunteers have given up their time and effort to drive me to obligations that my life pre-In-Home Connections required me to attend.   It has done wonders for my peace of mind.  The cheerfulness and punctuality of these ladies have made these 'outings' something to which I look forward, and I appreciate the opportunity this program has given me to continue with my life as it was before.  Thank you for making this possible.

- Edith Parti

Through In-Home Connections, Mom has met new friends, has transportation to many of her activities, and opportunities for monthly luncheons; the organization actually offers more activities than she can participate in. The staff and volunteers have been so wonderful to Mom. I know that when my husband and I go out of town I needn't worry about Mom having support if she needs it. Hopefully other communities will follow your shining example and create similar organizations.  - Maureen Moss
