Meet Julie Iantorno
Newest DMCC Board Member
Julie is a Southern California native who grew up in Los Angeles, received her B.A. degree from UCLA and elementary teaching credential from University of Arizona. Julie and her husband Pat have resided in north coastal San Diego County since 1975. They have been Del Mar residents since 2005. During the years that Julie stayed home raising her three children, she volunteered her time working with the Rancho Santa Fe School PTO, fundraising for the RSF Foundation and Torrey Pines High School Foundation. She has served as chair- person for the Del Mar Country Club Women's Golf Association, TPHS Foundation Gala and UCSD Golf Fore Arthritis tournament. Julie began her involvement with DMCC working on the 10-10-10 Fundraiser and is happy to now be focusing her time and energy serving as a board member helping seniors in the Del Mar community that she loves.

Medicare Counseling Clinic
9 - Noon on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the Month
Personal appointments with a HICAP* counselor to discuss Medicare, Long Term Care or Supplemental Insurance, Medi-Gap and prescription drug programs. Appointments are scheduled by HICAP and held in the DMCC back office on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 9 am to Noon. Brain Fitness Computer Program

A 40-hour computer-based program developed by Posit Science scientifically proven to improve memory, speed
up thinking and sharpen focus. No previous computer experience is required. The DMCC Brain Fitness Program is funded by a grant from the office of San Diego County Supervisor Pam Slater-Price and is offered in partnership with The Del Mar Foundation and Briggs & Briggs LLC. Annual City of DM Clean-Up Day Saturday, May 14 7 am to 3 pm Waste Management will collect up to 3 large bulky items (couches, lawn chairs, bbqs, old lumber, etc.) FREE of charge!

The Band celebrates their 13th year with Tom Holtz, principal tubist with "The President's Own" U.S. Marine Band, who will perform a variety of arrangements including "Pride of a People," a patriotic number that includes many favorites. Carlsbad Community Church, corner of Jefferson and Pine. Senior tickets are $17, which includes $5 bus donation.

Del Mar Community Connections has implemented a pilot program of new services called In-Home Connections.
DMCC is looking for seniors who live at home but can't drive or run errands on their own or who have limited
contact with friends and who need help with home maintenance and safety issues. Each In-Home Connections
participant will have a personalized set of services based on what they want or need to help them live safely and
independently at home.

Dr. Schwab is a hematologist/oncolo-gist specializing in the treatment of patients with breast cancer. He is an active researcher and attempts to scientifically apply the latest advances in cancer research to benefit his patients. His clinical and laboratory research is focused on developing new biological mark-ers of cancer. In the future these markers may help to deter-mine who is at increased risk of developing breast cancer, to diagnose breast cancer early, and to select the least toxic and most effective treatments for breast cancer.
