DMCC's In-Home Connections Program

We're Making Life Easier for our Del Mar Residents

Beginning this year, Del Mar Community Connections is implementing a new group of services called In-Home Connections.  This effort will be a pilot program lasting 18-24 months to evaluate its success.  DMCC is looking for up to 20 seniors who would like some in-home help to live independently.  The best participant for this program is a senior who lives at home but can't drive or run errands on their own or who has limited contact with friends and who needs help with home maintenance and safety issues.

Look to Us for:

Personal Care Coordination of services, referrals and ongoing support

Daily Check-In Safety Calls to ensure you are ok

Trusted Referrals to perform discounted home repairs such as installing safety railings, grab bars and non-slip floor coverings

'Friendly Visitors' to provide companionship and conversation

Individual Transportation for shopping, banking and appointments

'Personal Shoppers' - whether for groceries or other items, simply hand over your list and let a volunteer shop and deliver for you

Occasional Meals To-Go ordered from local restaurants offering discounted rates and delivered right to your door

Trash Day Assistance to get your trash, yard waste and recyclables to the curb and back again

Each In-Home Connections participant will have a personalized set of services based on what they want or need to help them live safely and independently at home.

Sign up now at our introductory rate of $50 per month.

Are You Ready,
Del Mar?
fire
Many Del Mar residents have worried that we are not really prepared should a disaster strike.  DMCC Board Member Carol Kerridge has created the "Are You Ready Del Mar?" presentation  so you and your neighbors can learn how to work together to make your home and neighborhood more safe.

The program includes: understanding the risks here in Del Mar; how to prepare in advance to minimize damage; what simple supplies to have on hand; & what to do if a disaster actually occurs.

If you would like to host a neighborhood meeting, please call Carol Kerridge at (858) 755-7821.
