Brain Fitness Activity of the Month
Choose The Rocky Road
The task: Take a walk on a cobblestone path.

The reason: Scientists believe that walking on uneven surfaces like cobblestones improves the vestibular system of the inner ear, which plays a central role in balance and equilibrium. Cobblestone walking challenges the vestibular system in ways that improve its function, which translates into better balance- the key to preventing serious injuries.

Holiday Turkey Donation
winston schooll students donate turkeys

The Winston School Student Council and the Winston Parents Group donated turkeys for clients of Del Mar's Rental Assistance Program administered by Del Mar Community Connections.  This is the second year Winston students have donated turkeys.

Madi Tesoro, President, Griffin Farrell, VP and Torrey Hazelquist, Class Rep, present turkeys to Del Mar senior Jennie Vance and DMCC staff with wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanks Del Mar Rose Society!
Each Thanksgiving, members of the Del Mar Rose Society create beautiful arrangements with roses grown at their own homes and deliver them to residents around town who can use some cheering up.  Students from Winston School contributed their time and talents making Thanksgiving cards to accompany the vases.  This year, 35 Del Mar residents were the happy recipients of the rose vase arrangements and handmade cards.
