Dear Friends, Neighbors and Supporters,

Come celebrate the festive season with your neighbors on Monday, December 8th from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at St. Peter's Parish Hall. We will gather to toast the holidays with egg nog punch followed by a medley of finger sandwiches and sensational homemade cookies. Our own Del Mar choristers will lead our singing and merry-making. Bring along your high spirits and some canned food for the Encinitas Community Resource Center holiday food drive.

Our December schedule of activities will have some changes to accommodate the Christmas and New Year's holidays, but none of our services will be cancelled. Heather Glenn, our Program Director, will be on vacation from December 22nd to January 5th. I will be staffing the office during the mornings from 9 am to 12:30 pm throughout her vacation. Please come by and visit.

We approach the year's end with endless gratitude for the invaluable work and loyalty of our extraordinarily capable Program Director Heather Glenn and our Bus Driver Scott Eggum. Our programs and services operate with great efficiency and a high level of consideration for our residents' ongoing needs with Heather and Scott leading the way. They make a huge difference every day in the quality of community life. We are deeply indebted to Heather and Scott.

We are very eager for the new year's events, and I urge you to unwrap those 2009 calendars and mark the dates of the activities that you will find as you scroll through beyond this letter. Enjoy all of the season's opportunities and moments to come together with friends, neighbors and families. These are the gifts of the season.

Until next month!
Warm regards,
Shirley King,
President
