EricIntroWelcome
Eric Phelps, Director - Grinspoon Institute for Jewish PhilanthropyEric Phelps

I am delighted to report that during the past month the Grinspoon Institute launched two exciting new initiatives - PJ Goes to Camp (PJGTC) and the Grinspoon Institute Fundraiser's Training (GIFT) program.

We are thrilled that nearly 100 campers are already receiving camperships through PJGTC and more than 150 additional potential applicants are pending review! You can learn more at www.onehappycamper.org.

Many thanks to Laurie Herrick and Jill Paul for their leadership of the new GIFT program. We recently hosted 16 development professionals in Longmeadow, MA for their first GIFT training session. You can learn more about GIFT in this issue.

We also continue to offer monthly Webinars for all camp staff and board members to continually learn. This month, Mentor Natasha Dresner leads a Webinar discussion about running Successful Camp Visits. Please register now for the session and read her associated article here in this eNewsletter.

Finally, our Technology Team continued its learning this month by attending the Nonprofit Technology Conference with 1400+ nonprofit professionals (including many in the Jewish nonprofit world). Read their article on their experience and what you can learn from it.

One Summer seven years ago, a major Jewish philanthropist had a few visits with a Jewish Summer Camp in the Berkshires.  Those visits wound up putting nonprofit Jewish Camping on the map and changed its landscape forever. Wonder how YOUR camp can have such an impact?
NTCNonprofit Technology Conference Recap
By Kevin Martone, GIJP Technology Program Manager

Camp is an incredible place for kids to learn, grow, meet new people, and have new experiences. Camp staff and board members should follow this lead and make sure they are continually learning as well. This is why the Grinspoon Institute for Jewish Philanthropy offers its annual conference free of charge to all of its participating organizations.

This is also why Joe Ruotolo and I attended the recent Nonprofit Technology Conference organized by NTEN. Read on to hear what we learned and how the knowledge could help YOUR camp!
ResourcesResource of the Month - Successful Camp Visits
Here are three resources that should help you plan and run successful can visits:
