June Event

Planning Session for Next Year

June 26th. Location TBD.

It's time to start thinking of next year for our Section.

This last year we asked our section membership to complete a survey and at each event we asked for your feedback. On June 26th we will review the year, the survey results, and discuss our plans for next year. Chris Hayes is our new chair and you can expect an exciting year under her leadership. Chris is planning on implementing many of the ideas that she has heard over the year and has been actively in contact with the SLC Section to gain even more ideas.
Please plan on attending this "End of Year" meeting so that you can get your voice in to your section leadership.
All volunteer positions from last year will have dinner provided by the section as a thank you for their service.
The meeting time and location will be announced prior to the event but you can plan on the Ogden area. When the next announcement comes out we will ask for RSVP so for now just mark your calendar.

Greetings!
Last month we toured Presto Plastics.

Presto Plastics in Lewiston Utah manufacturers plastic bags for commercial use.  The tour was given by Tony Lafevre and Jill Larson.

The tour lasted for over an hour and a half and during the tour we learned of the details of their manufacturing process including how they actively get their employees involved in the company. The visual factory was impressive and it was obvious how much the visuals, from problem solving to critical metric communication, helped them maintain their external quality levels at less than a 10 PPM level. Yea that's right less than 10 PPM...

Thank you to Tony, Jill and Thom Smith for setting up and giving the tour. Having companies like Presto in the Cache Valley is what keeps the Utah economy so robust compared to the national economy.

The Return on Investment is Phenominal...

An ASQ certification is an investment in not only your current career, but also your future. Gain an advantage over your competition and increase your potential for a higher salary. See for yourself why ASQ certifications matter to employers (PDF, 156 KB).

With an ASQ certification next to your title, you demonstrate your dedication to quality while allowing your current supervisor, as well as future supervisors, take notice. ASQ is the leading authority on career-boosting certifications for quality professionals, with more than 60 years of experience. It makes sense to get certified by ASQ.

Look for opportunities to prepare for certifications through our section in the coming year.

Find the Certification that's right for you.

Thank you to our members for helping us grow.  Your support while we build our chapter is very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Paul Harbath
