Moore Farms
Orders This Week

Yay, we love it when things go (relatively) smoothly and we got good rain to boot. We had two little issues this week with orders: Beech Creek Farms accidentally sent us another box of Peppers instead of the Asian Eggplant and so one caught it until we were packing orders and too late to get it. If you had ordered Eggplant we'll note your account and replace it in your next order! Also, we didn't get as many of the fabulous Red Onions from Walker Farms as we had expected but we got more of the terrific Celery from Signal Mountain Farm so we replaced Onions on some $20 Farmers Pick orders* with Celery.

We have updated our Upcoming Events page and our on-farm Canning Classes are open for Registration! Check it out along with our next Cook's Warehouse Cooking Classes (the Fresh Pasta Class last month sold out!). You can register for the on-farm classes on our website even when we are closed for other ordering.

Pickup Location Info

  • Our Wright Dairy Pickup site is off until the first of September as they work on upgrading their dairy equipment! Alternative site for now is in Oxford, AL hosted by the wonderful folks at Garfrerick's Cafe.
  • Our Stone Mountain Village host site The Village Corner Restaurant is moving our boxes inside the dining room since it is heating up now. Ask anyone at the bakery or restaurant for your farm box when picking up.
  • We're thrilled to announce our newest site, Harry's Farmers Market in Marietta! Check out the details on our Pickup Locations page and help us spread the word!
  • We have two changes to our Birmingham delivery route: a new St Vincent's site is starting next week so we have had to take the Botanical Gardens and Downtown Charm sites off of the route. We have locations near these (Mountainbrook and Freshfully) so hopefully those will work just fine for everyone!       _______________________________________________________

Chicken Egg Cartons

Our favorite style of Egg Cartons are no longer being produced so we have been

on the hunt for a little bit now to see what our options are. Turns out pretty much

all of the paper cartons available to us are being produced in China and shipped over

here (big surprise). I kept looking and found a great company in Florida who produces

100% recycled paper cartons in their own Florida factory and they have free shipping!

The only thing is they do not make the 1/2 dozen cartons. We have some 1/2 dozens

left in inventory and we'll keep them back for Duck Eggs, so from now on our Chicken

Eggs will be offered by the Dozen only.

Melon and Ham
Cheese Toast
We came up with this one over the 4th of July holiday break: terrific for Breakfast, Brunch or a delicious snack we think you'll love it too!
Another great recipe for kids: preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place slices of your favorite cheese on bread, then top with 1/2 slice of the Riverview Farms Deli Ham. Bake just long enough for the Cheese to melt, the Bread to toast lightly and the Ham to get a little browned. Let them rest for 5 minutes before topping with a slice of Cantaloupe and serve!
