Moore Farms
Orders This Week

OK, terrific farm boxes going out this week! Such a beautiful and colorful array of produce, the weather so far this year has really been good for crops. The word is Strawberries really will be back next week, we had a late report today that they will be in for sure (if we had them back-ordered for you we will replace them automatically if you have a box going out). Otherwise everyone on the farms are planting, planning and preparing for the big Spring push!

We're glad to offer our Spring Investment Membership Special again (see details below) with a terrific incentive to pre-pay for your orders and gain a tasty return on your Investment.

Come on out for our Moore Farms Cooking Class this Saturday, we'll have a great time in Farmhouse kitchen preparing some favorite dishes and showing you our tips and tricks for vegetables, meats and dairy items. (See details below, you can still Register even when the rest of the Online Market is closed!) Also we have opened up the Spring Farm Day reservations! We have a great time meeting, greeting and eating here at Moore Farms with some Baby Chick petting and Farm Touring in the mix. Meet our new Farm Manager Garver Akers and his lovely family and we'll have a proper Market Tent set up with all kinds of goodies for sale including vegetable and flower plants, meats, cheeses and farm canned goods. Great for ALL ages, you don't have to be a kid to have fun on our Farm Day!

Photo Gallery: From our  Members and the Farm!

Ohmygosh we had some great pics to share this week, from Members, of Members and by Members as well as cute stuff on the Farm!
Top Left: Kari and Justin Rannick's 18-month old cutie Jake in his "Swiss Chard 500" Race Car Box: look for it going back out next week with more good food to another Member! Top Right: Moore Farms Top Dog Buddy supervises WWOOF Intern Alyssa weeding the Kale. Middle Left: Our February Farm Dinner guests with Will (it was 18 degrees that night!). Middle Right: The Salad dish from our Cook's Warehouse Wonderful Winter Greens Class, many thanks to Member Jana Kaplan for sending the pics! Mama Hen and her Chicks: The first two hatchlings this year, a little black chick with a white spot on it's head and a little fuzzy brown chick (too cute). The climb all around on top of and under their Mama! Below: Some awesomely beautiful Box Graffiti from Member Marie Weaver: she painted beautiful renditions of the fruits and veg in her boxes, thanks so much, Marie, they are gorgeous (I had a hard time not keeping them!).
Spring Investment Membership
Special Offer
Our average Online Market Member spends $1250 per year, why not get a little more out of your local food spending dollars? We have four Investment Membership levels with returns varying from 3-7% (you're not going to find that great rate at your bank or credit union and we are delicious, too!). If you sign up or renew through March 20th 2012 we'll throw in the $30 Annual Membership, too! Investment Members get two-for-one pricing for farm events and don't have to enter your credit card every time you order (very handy if you're on the run!). Check it out and thanks for considering our incentive offer!

Vidahlia's Farm Report
Vidahlia will be writing periodic reports for all of us to give her 6-year-old perspective about life here at Moore Farms! This is the first in her series. . .
The little chick Vidahlia is holding is just 4 days old!
"I have been helping Laurie with the chickens. I feed and water them, and get their eggs. I like taking care of chickens.  One of the hens is sitting on eggs. They are hatching one by one. Eggs take 21 days to hatch."
