Moore Farms
Orders This Week

What a terrific weather break this week as it feels more like October again than mid-December. It gives us more pep to our steps and makes our chores easier. This week is the last week of the Peachtree Center Greenmarket for those of you who want to come on out for a beautiful day in downtown Atlanta. (The market will pick back up in the Spring.)

HOLIDAY DELIVERIES

All Deliveries next week will be on Wednesday the 21st for all locations (Georgia and Alabama). Some sites will not have deliveries so be sure to double-check the Pickup Locations page when we open the Online Market for the updated info. We are looking forward to our "Winter Break", the only week we take off all year, the last week of December!

Mixed Roots
Mixed Root Veggies
Our Mixed Root selections change with the seasons and what is available but they can be enjoyed in a few different ways and are always delicious!

Roasted Roots
One of our staples in the cool seasons: Wash, trim and chop variety of Roots into bite-sized chunks (no need to peel!). Toss with just enough Olive Oil to coat, season with Salt and Pepper, spread on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in a hot (400 degree) oven for 20-30 minutes or until tender and browned. Delicious with BBQ seasoning, Modern Day Masala Indian Spices, Garlic, etc.

Mashed Roots
Steam, Boil or Roast Roots and mash to your desired texture (we like them a little chunky but moms have reported they are very popular with even the pickiest kids when mashed well). Add a little cream, butter or broth if they are too stiff.

Mixed Root Soup
Prepare Roasted Roots, place in a soup pot. Add enough broth, milk or water to cover and blend well with an immersion blender (or use a food processor). Yum yum yum!
