Torah Talk
One of the greatest debates in our rabbinic tradition is between those who feel that (Torah) study is the greater mitzvah and those who feel that action is the greater mitzvah.  The debate concludes - in Kiddushin 40b - that study is great because it leads to action.  This year we have had an amazing year of both study and action.  Our kids have studied a wide variety of subjects - from Torah to Haiku - and they have engaged in action as well - visits to Woldenberg, Challah for hunger, and more.  On Friday, as we send the kids off for the summer we will give them one last challenge:  the challenge to do something good for the world while they are on summer vacation.  Each child will bring home two postcards that we hope they will fill out and return to us over the summer.  On each postcard, we ask that they write down something that they have done to make the world a better place.  Please help us to have a wall full of beautiful postcards by the time we return to school in August.
