 President's Letter
October 2011
On behalf of our board of directors, I want to share some important changes that will strengthen and help grow our club as we enter our 25th year.
At our July meeting the board voted to revise the term policy for board members and officers, effective January 2012.
- Extend the terms of officers from one to two years.
- Stagger the tenure for officers so that not all officers are new at one time. To accomplish this the 2012 president and vice president will fill their roles for one year. The 2012 secretary and treasurer will hold their position for two years. Beginning in 2013, all officers will serve a two-year term.
- Allow board members the option to renew their two-year terms for another two years.
- The board believes these changes will assure that our officers and board members have the knowledge, experience and expertise to perform their jobs more effectively. At the same time, incoming officers will have the opportunity to train in their new role.
We are continuing to make other improvements to our "operating system," which I will share will you in the coming weeks.
Our Board of Directors is looking forward to our annual meeting and the board planning retreat in November. We are very excited about the increased potential for stability and growth we believe will exist with the new structure.
