President's Letter July 2011
I am so thankful for every sunny day we have had this spring. I am a native Oregonian, so wet springs are something I expect, but it seems this summer and the sun have been especially slow in coming this year.
Portlandia Club has great opportunities this summer for networking with other professional women. The July luncheon is the last of the networking luncheons for the year. July 21 will be our summer after hours and a good time to get together with other members and friends of Portlandia and catch up on their fun in the sun! The August luncheon speaker will be Lisa Sedlar, President and CEO of New Seasons Markets. I can only say that I am always amazed at the crowded parking lots at New Seasons and I, for one, want to hear how they have done such a great job of expansion and growth in such trying economic times.
July is a great time to officially join Portlandia and take advantage of the discounts on luncheons and events as well as the many member only free events in the fall. If you have been considering membership take a moment to check out the pro-rated fees for the second half of the year.
Your board has made some headway in getting pertinent information available to all of our members. Thanks to Joan Riley and Samantha Phenix we now have a google profile and will, over time, be able to post documents, meeting minutes, etc. there. You can take a peek at the web page at Portlandia.
Take a moment to follow the link and let us know what you would like to see on the site.
I hope to see you all at lunch or after hours this summer!
