President's Letter
September is one of my favorite months, so I planned my wedding for it - on the 14th we celebrate 19 years! My flowers are still thriving, the birds are still all around, football and tailgating soon start (GO Ducks & Grizzlies!), the days are getting cooler, leaves and sunsets become fiery orange, and larger moons linger. It's just hard to beat this time of year.
My tomatoes and peppers are in bounty, so it's fresh salsa time. Nothing better than homemade salsa on everything! Check out my recipe for it in our new cookbook fundraiser. It is, as you'll find, "da bomb"!
And, one final reminder from me - get your recipes in this week! Our cut off date to the publisher is the 12th of this month! Please let Judi Jones or myself know if you've not received the email link and log-in. We truly are inspired to assist Itafari and World Pulse with the proceeds from this fundraiser!
I'm looking forward to the After Hours event on the 16th at The Benson Hotel, but looking more forward to the beach retreat the next day! The house this year looks fantastic and I can't wait for all the great food and conversations we'll have together. Make sure to enter the recipe for what you're bringing to the beach for Friday night's dinner in our cookbook!

It certainly wasn't easy for a woman to break into sports broadcasting 20 years ago - let alone succeed and make it - as they say - to the majors.
But Ann Schatz hurdled through traditional biases to become a national sports broadcaster, with access to the likes of Lance Armstrong, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordon and Mia Hamm.

Join us for Annual Luncheons across the council in celebration and support of Girl Scouts. All luncheons start promptly at noon and will run exactly one hour. A social hour preceding the lunch begins at 11:00 a.m. Event Tickets

All proceeds raised are for financial assistance. This ensures that every interested girl in our council has the ability to participate in Girl Scouting regardless of financial circumstances. Last year, nearly 6,000 Girl Scouts in our council benefitted from financial assistance.
