| Presidents Message
"Anyone who imagines they can work alone winds up surrounded by nothing but rivals, without companions. The fact is, no one ascends alone." - Lance Armstrong (It's Not About the Bike: My Journey Back to Life) It was evident by our annual meeting that no one in Portlandia works in isolation. The reason this organization thrives is due to the fact that we have many opportunities for our members to pitch in and help.
And you heard the call! What a remarkable organization to have so many professional and powerful women step up to the plate to connect, collaborate and contribute back to our organization and our community.
Our work has just begun. Thank you for responding to Portlandia's Vow of Renewal. You will be contacted by a committee chair or board member with details on how to begin our work together. I know under the leadership of our incoming President, Edrie Bizak and by our combined efforts, next year will be an incredible demonstration of women making a difference in our community.
Thank you for your partnership and your willingness. You are remarkable! Sincerely,
Christine Green

Portlandia's New Location!
For many years we have enjoyed holding our luncheons at the MAC. Food, location & service were always wonderful. However, the one drawback to a private club is that we were not allowed to advertise the location of our meetings in print.
Starting with our December Holiday Luncheon, we will be meeting at the Portland City Grill.
Directions: 111 SW 5th ave & Pine st., Portland/ Unico US Bank Tower/ Jefferson Room
We will enjoy all the same ammenities; great food, location & 2 1/2 hr free covered parking, for the same price.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Portlandia Gift Card Project
Last chance to give!
As our ongoing efforts & joy of supporting the Dress for Success of Oregon continues, this year we are doing a GIFT CARD project. Please bring as many Gift cards as you want, in the amount of $5 each! They can be from stores like: Fred Meyers, Safeway, Target, etc.... Bring one, bring 3 ... do what you'd like. We will have a Basket to collect the cards at the Dec Luncheon.
Pam Mason will then take all the cards collected & distribute them to the women at DFS for Christmas! Thank you for your generous giving spirits!

You Can Change a Woman's Life What if just nine of us took nine minutes a week to change the lives of nine women? Nine. That's how many eager women from the Dress for Success Professional Women's Group raised their hands asking for a mentor at a recent mentee orientation session. As those who participate in the Better Together mentor program have discovered, you can have a significant impact on a mentee's life by simply having a monthly phone conversation with her for, say, 36 minutes. Can you spare the time? Think of how easy it can be to build confidence, self-esteem and success in another woman. Contact Kathie England
