Primeaux RV Superstore
October 3rd, 2008

We've been busy the past week as summer has turned to Fall 2008. Hurricane cleanup still going on we move forward one step at a time as our world tries to slowly unravel around us.

Our message this Fall is persistence as we close in on the presidential election, unprecedented failures on Wall Street, and new economic challenges in our environment. We believe in this country and stand behind the principles that guide our great nation, we wave the flag proudly at the front of our lot and know this is only a bump in the road we will move forward and beyond.

As the leaves turn one more time our thoughts drift to all the great things about the Fall weather in Louisiana and the southeastern area of our great country. One of the more colorful times of the year as green turns gold into brown we prepare for seasonal renewal as our preparations for the holiday season begin.

Football, hunting, fishing we love this time of year as it gives families a chance to gather around a host of activities and events. It's a time for friends and family at home or on the road. It's a good time to drag or drive your RV to one of your favorite spots and spend a weekend or week or two as your schedule demands.

In this brief newsletter we share our weekend schedule, our most recent RV arrivals on the lot, a small bit about a great RV brand PUMA, and as always we ask you to give us some feedback and let us know how we're doing, let us know with our survey, see below.

Remember at Primeaux RV it's about family. Our customers are an extended family in many cases and we have developed multi-year relationships with you our readers and customers.

RV Industry Trends

Are you wondering what's going on with your fellow RV Travel Enthusiasts? We regularly look across the demographics of the industry to keep you and us abreast of some of the most important things that are going on. The RV experience continues to offer excellent value for your lifestyle and adventure. Primeaux RV is here to make sure you get the best value and service out of your investment.

Shorter trips close to home.  Research shows that RVers spend more time enjoying the campground experience and less on the road in order to save fuel.  With more than 16,000 campgrounds nationwide, RVers save fuel and cut costs by staying closer to home.  Whether they travel five miles or 500, they still enjoy the same outdoors experience.

Fluctuating fuel prices, RV travel is a great value.  The 2008 PKF Vacation Cost comparison study showed that a family of four can save 27-to-61% on vacation costs depending on the type of trip and type of RV used.  Even with higher fuel prices, more than three-fourths of RV owners say their RV vacations cost less than other forms of vacation.

Fuel cost analysis.  Analysis of potential fuel cost increases shows that fuel prices would need to more than double over current levels to make RVing more expensive for a family of four than other forms of travel.  Airfares and hotel rates are rising rapidly as fuel costs increase.  "While fuel costs are a component of the overall vacation cost, fluctuations in fuel prices aren't significant enough to affect a family's decision of whether or not to take RV trips over other types of vacations," said Kannan Sankaran, PKF's lead researcher for the study.

RV rentals continue to grow.  Despite high fuel prices and sluggish overall economic growth, RV rentals are expected to increase 18%, according to a recent survey of RV rental companies conducted by the Recreation Vehicle Rental Association.

RVers still filling campgrounds.  High fuel prices aren't stopping RVers from visiting RV parks and campgrounds.  Campground owners say RV reservations are running 5-to-15 percent higher in 2008 than they were in 2007.

The RV lifestyle continues to offer great value for the family vacation. Whether you and your family are traveling to the beach, the mountains or staying close to home you probably won't find a better value. Future issues of our newsletter will give your more insight into some of your favorite RV parks, campgrounds and adventures.
