RAI Manual for MDS 3.0 Updates 
 
CMS has posted Chapter 6 of the new RAI manual for the MDS 3.0. This chapter addresses the SNF Propspective Payment System.  RUGs IV, the relationship between the assessment and the claim in addtion to PPS eligibility criteria are all discussed.  ADL scoring as well as how to calculate total therapy minutes is outlined. Instructions for the Medicare Short Stay Assessment are provided in Chapter 6 as well.
 
Harmony has identified the integral components to this process are ASSESS, ASK and OBSERVE.  Harmony will be providing guidence through consulting visits, education and training and keeping our phone lines open for all questions related to MDS 3.0 and RUGs IV.
