What Michael Jackson did right! |
|
I have read a copy of Michael Jackson's will. Although ultimately nothing can stop family feuds, here is a list of some of things he did right in an attempt to prevent infighting:
He did a will! Most Americans do not do a will. He did his will within a reasonable time before his death. That way it was current according to his life at the time He named a guardian for his minor children (his mother) and an alternate (the Court might not be happy with a senior citizen guardian so there was so room for improvement here!) He named independent people to be in charge of his estate. He did a trust which disposes of most of his assets which has the ability with most people of being private. He had it done by a competent and prominent attorney who can attest to his competence when it was executed. He may have had a disfunctional life but he was very responsible regarding his will. Unlike Anna Nicole Smith . . . |

I wish to take this opportunity to talk about Attorney Alice Reiter Feld's discussion with our Bermuda Club Herzl Judea Hadassah Chapter.
The topics of discussion were "How to Manage Long Term Care" and "The Health Care System".
Our Hadassah Chapter is appropriately called a "Senior" Chapter. The majority of our members are between the ages of 75 to 95 plus years. They thoroughly enjoyed Attorney Feld's presentation, as they are facing many decisions that must now be made (or have already made) regarding their health care. Attorney Feld was thorough, addressed all major points, was very interesting, and patiently answered all of our member's questions. They LOVED her!!
We are looking forward to her returning to our Chapter to discuss pertinent health care issues. Our ladies have loads of questions for her.
Sincerely, Irma Gordon, President Bermuda Club Herzl Judea Hadassah Chapter

Dear Alice,
Hope this note finds you well this Thursday before the 4th of July. Wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for inviting me to the presentations that your office makes available to our community. Every presentation that I have been at is well prepared and presented and has timely subjects of need to many of us in the general community, as well as the non-profit world. After attending the program on Health Care Decisions, found that the program wan not only timely but also a good venue to network with other folks within the community of speakers, whom we rarely have the chance to interface with. On behalf of both myself personally, and our community, keep up the great work and please keep us informed of these presentations and workshops.
Sincerely Yours, Paul Keefe Director of Planned Giving HospiceCare of Southeast Florida | |
