Join Families at the Pool Party in Anthem AZA family events are back! To celebrate going back-to-school (everybody's favorite time of the year), we are hosting a good old fashioned pool party. This time we're branching out to the northwest valley into the fabled village of Anthem, known mostly for its rich and extensive cultural history. The AZA United Pool Party will take place this Saturday, September 12th, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm! In case you've never been there, the Anthem community pool is a vibrant scene of waterslides, barbecues, grassy fields and good times. Come join us! This event is open to ALL families of children with autism around the valley. Bring your friends! AZA will be there with water bottles and gluten-casein free snacks. The price for non-Anthem residents ages 6 or older is only 6 dollars per person, and includes a wristband for all water rides and pools. Under age 6 is free! To RSVP, call our office or email poolparty@azaunited.org by Thursday with the names of everyone in your party. You can pay admission at the door. Have fun!

Video-Based Professional Development So online isn't really your style? Fair enough. Maybe you like old school VHS tapes. Well, we can't help you there, but we do have some cutting edge DVD trainings available to you for FREE! Simply call our office or email training@azaunited.org to schedule your personal viewing experience. These viewing sessions are applicable toward professional development hours for employees, and available to families or anyone else who simply wants to learn. Our current library includes an 8 volume ABA training, social skills video modeling, and archives from the original Lovaas tapes. So much learning...so little time. Contact us to get started!

Are You Using Online Timesheets Yet? Don't forget that AZA United now offers online timesheets! This is an easy way to make sure your timesheets get submitted on time with parent approval. We will set you up with a secure online account. You'll log in, fill out your timesheet electronically, and click submit. The family then logs in, reviews it, anc clicks approve. That's it! Done! Why bother with all this faxing stuff? Set up your online timesheet account today.
To start using online timesheets, send an email to online@azaunited.org with your name and preferred username and password. Once an email has been received from both the parent and the employee, both accounts will be created and we will send you instructions.

Talking Dollars with Dads On the evening of Thursday, October 1st, AZA is hosting a special evening for fathers of children with autism to talk finances with one of our volunteers, Brent Mekosh. Brent has been involved with the AZA United board since last year and is a member of the Fundraising Committee. Brent spent a decade in New York City as a Member of the New York Stock Exchange. Today his firm Mekosh Financial Services of Raymond James offers a range of financial management services for businesses and individual clients across 11 states and 2 countries. We have asked Brent to do a Q&A session on any finance related topic. He's a bright guy with a big heart, and for one night only he's all yours (and don't worry, he's not trying to sell you anything). To RSVP or get more information, give us a call or email dadsnight@azaunited.org.

Join the AZA Girl Scouts Troop AZA United is forming a girl scouts troop! Our plan is to meet monthly here at the Disability Empowerment Center and provide a goal-oriented supportive environment for girls scouts activities. This could be a great social opportunity and is intended for girls ages 5 to 12. If you are interested in having your child join the troop, or if you'd like to volunteer to help make it a success, please contact Kimberly Crook, our Community Relations Facilitator, by calling our office, or reach her by email at kimberly@azaunited.org. We are still in the planning stages, so now is a great time to get involved and help make this program a success for all.
