Our Wacky World!
Three times a year, Concordia Academy classrooms share learning environments. In the shared learning environments, classes rotate to each classroom to learn about topics related to a theme. The first rotation was called Christmas Around the World. This week, on Wednesday and Thursday, students participated in a second rotation, called Our Wacky World.
Ms. Balduc, our Kindergarten teacher, taught students about the variations of feet. Animal feet, insect feet, and human feet are made differently to accommodate basic survival needs.

Ms. Rush, our Pre-Kindergarten teacher, taught students about scabs. She demonstrated how a scab forms using cheesecloth, a water bottle, and liquid. Ms. Eldridge, our 3s class teacher, taught students about the wonderful world of noses. Students participated in sniff tests to match the scents to the description. They also learned about snot and how it helps to protect the body.
Ms. Gorgas, our 2s class teacher, taught students about the digestive tract. They learned about the length of the intestines and how germs are transferred to the digestive tract.
Ask your students about the fun and informative activities from this week! I'm sure they can't wait to tell you about Our Wacky World! The final rotation will take place in May. Parent volunteers will be needed to assist in the rotations. If you would like to participate, please contact Dr. Burton.
