Greetings!
Ladies in Faith Together (LIFT) is the Women's Ministry at St. Peter Lutheran Church. We gather to encourage, inspire and serve our church, our families and our community. We believe that God has brought us together to grow in faith and to explore opportunities for fellowship and service in the world around us. We seek to nurture and lift up all those whom God puts in our path. We are also affiliated with the national organization, Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML).

Our first Christmas by Candlelight is a HUGE success!
 
Sparkling candles ... delicious desserts ... beautifully decorated tables ... the most handsome servers ... fun with friends. Our first ever Christmas by Candlelight, held on December 4th, was all this, and more! We even enjoyed a visit from jolly old St. Nicholas who shared memories of Christmases past and read about Christ's birth from Luke. Special thanks go out to all of our table hostesses who made the night so gorgeous! Mark Dec. 2nd on your 2012 calendar and plan now to attend the next Christmas by Candlelight! While we had so many women together, we took the opportunity to bless one of our ladies, Karen Wiechman, who is St. Peter's Communications Director. Calida Weber (right) presented her with a gift certificate to the LIFT Retreat. In a thank you note, Karen wrote, "To all the fabulous women of LIFT - You are such a blessing in my life! I thank God for placing our lives together. Thanks so much for the gift of RETREAT coming in February. I truly look forward to it! Christmas Eve Cookie Reception
You all really out-did yourselves this year! The cookies on Christmas Eve were just spectacular, not to mention down-right yummy! And a special thanks goes to Linda Ten Eyck for her festive decorations on the table. They made a great photo-op for the Mitchell kids, as you can see!!

It's almost here!! RETREAT!!
February 17-19 at Riverbend Retreat Center in Glen Rose, Texas
 It's hard to imagine a "Sea Side Escape" in Texas ... IN FEBRUARY, no less! But the Retreat Planning Committee is sure they will be able to deliver it!! Cost of the retreat is $160, which covers two nights lodging, five meals and all activities. Forms are on the LIFT table in the atrium.

For the Girly-Girl Spring Fling
Start thinking of who you will invite - your daughters, granddaughters, mothers, aunts and nieces ... neighbors, friends, co-workers! This event is designed for you to enjoy a special time with the young women in your life! Watch for more details to be coming soon.  But start planning now to bring gently used or new maternity clothing, baby clothes, toys and supplies to be donated to the Eagle Mountain Pregnancy Center! This is the same group that we collected diapers and wipes for at our Christmas by Candlelight event last month. They were so excited to receive those donations so we want to help them more. We will have a church-wide drive for them during the month of March, culminating with the collection we will take at the Girly-Girl Spring Fling. So, as you do your spring cleaning, think of items you can donate! _____________________________________________________________ |
