On The Community Front | | Many Northeast hands helped Rebuild Together

 The early spring provided many of our customers a head start on chores and cleaning, while for others, it continues to present reason to worry, with many of our friends and neighbors still out of work or dealing with financial challenges. | Opt-in for Declined Debit and ATM Card Transactions - Your Response Needed!
| New laws are giving customers options with respect to overdrafts, but you need to take action. For anyone with a Northeast Bank debit card, if you want the benefit of an automatic safety net when transactions on your debit card get approved - even if your account is a little short - you now must OPT IN by August 1st.
Debit and ATM card transactions are presented for authorization against your available balance at the bank. If there are not enough funds, starting August 15th, the transaction will be denied unless you Opt In for the service.

| It's Not Worth The Gamble | New Federal Restrictions on Internet Gambling Businesses
All business customers recently received a letter regarding a new law intended to cut down on the incidences of unlawful Internet gambling. In essence, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) prohibits any person engaged in the business of betting or wagering from knowingly accepting payments in connection with the participation of another person in unlawful internet gambling. To comply, Northeast will be blocking restricted transactions.
So what does this mean? Companies engaging in Internet gambling must prove that they are authorized to do so and can process transactions through their business account with Northeast.
