Watch Out for Scammers!

The Maine Attorney General's Office is warning consumers about a new email scam, where criminals are trying to get your money. This technique involves false emails, supposedly from the Internal Revenue Service, that tell recipients they qualify for federal stimulus money.
The emails ask you to download a "Stimulus Payment Form," fill it out, and return it to the sender. The IRS is not sending out any emails of that nature.
It's just a form of "phishing," where someone is trying to get you to provide them with personal financial information. Delete it! | |

Helping Revitalize Lewiston
|
On Feb. 25, Northeast Bank helped celebrate the completion of the Birch Hill Housing Development in Lewiston. Birch Hill was developed through a partnership between Northeast and other private and public organizations, as a way to provide affordable housing to senior citizens.
The project has been built on a 15-year vacant lot and is a key part of an effort to rejuvenate the area. Construction of Birch Hill also provided badly needed jobs at a time when the building industry was particularly hard hit by recession.

We have a new member of the Northeast family, with the opening of our Poland branch located at 1399 Maine Street, along the portion of Route 26 that Poland is developing as a downtown district.
