Chamber Annual Meeting Social
2010
On January 21st we had our
Chamber Annual Meeting Social
at the Mill at Fine Creek
It was a great success and a wonderful experience.
We want to thank Lisa Benusa and her
fabulous staff of The Mill at Fine Creek for
helping us make this important event just amazing!
The New Chamber Board of Directors for 2010
was sworn in and we welcome our newest members
of the Chamber Board of Directors:
Heather Williamson, Mary Kay Gates and Michael Potter.
Thank you, Dan Jones for serving as President in 2009.
Dan passed the BOD presidential gavel over to
Christy Polster who will serve as President for 2010.
This year the BOD voted to have two vice presidents
They are Mary Kay Gates and Heather Williamson
Kathy Grasty has graciously stayed on as
the Chamber Treasurer.
We were very sad to bid farewell to our three outgoing Board of Directors members:
Sandy Duncan, Shelia Sowell, and Joe Walton.

the Chamber of Commerce

for making the beautiful gifts for our outgoing BOD
Ray Dewey presented the
Photographic Historical Project that evening.
To everyone's delight some of our chamber members were in the photographs depicting the history of Powhatan.
This project is in partnership with Powhatan Chamber of Commerce, Powhatan Historical Society, and Powhatan Economic Development. These amazing photographs will be hung in Chamber Member offices as well as County buildings throughout Powhatan. If you are interested in hosting some of this project in your business contact the Chamber office.

Indian Pride Fund Established
The " INDIAN PRIDE FUND" has
now been established at Central Virginia Bank P. O. Box 39 Powhatan, VA 23139 The fund was established in an effort to raise monies to bring the statue
"Connecticut" by Paul DePasquale to Powhatan High School
They are seeking funds from private citizens and local businesses that will
enhance the proposal to be submitted to the RMA on Friday Jan 29, 2010
Please not these donations are not tax deductible. Should the efforts fall short, the monies donated will not be refunded. They will be distributed toward various student activities,teams,etc. The students will receive benefit form these funds if we are
not awarded "Connecticut". There will be no funding available to the project from the county
or school system. So our community is
